Whilst using Stumbleupon this morning, I 'stumbled upon' a funny ass Snopes article. Here are my thoughts:
For some reason I was under the impression that the economic crisis was caused by irresponsible loaning, over-inflated home values, over-paid jobs, and accumulating debt amongst Americans. Well they had my ass fooled.
The article is entitled Money Tree and being the broke college kid that I am, I'm tryin to get some of that money. Well as I read (and it doesn't take long to figure out), I discover that this article is about a bank that issued a CREDIT CARD to a TREE! Wait a minute....back up. That's right Gulls. A damn tree can get a credit card?
Now correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that it's considered bad business to take a risk (in this case giving a tree a freaking line of credit) when the odds are that you won't get any increase on investment. I mean forget collecting interest. I wanna know how the hell the tree is going to pay off the balance. Why does a tree need a credit card anyway. What's it going to do? Buy itself something nice? Get a load of top soil delivered?
Sad part is that it probably got approved for a higher limit than I did. If that's the case, I just might apply for a card under the alias 'Bigtoothed Aspen.' And we wonder why we're in a freakin recession.

Gotta take the low hanging fruit--or, pun, in this case...
They were trying to open a new branch location.
Sorry, couldn't leave that alone.
