Muir Boda's Message To Students!!

Below is a letter to students that was emailed to us by City Council candidate Muir Boda. Thanks Muir! It's really nice to see Salisbury politicians are finally taking students seriously. We encourage all candidates to follow Muir's example- no matter who you are, we promise we will put up your message- we do have personal opinions, but we still believe in a balanced platform and will try to maintain one. Word up.

Salisbury University is one of the greatest assets we have here in Salisbury. The contributions that her students make to our local economy are vitally important. We have many students that are achieving great things academically, athletically and professionally when they graduate. The quality of education received at our University is no longer one of Salisbury’s best kept secrets; it is what draws so many students here from all over the country.

Certainly issues arise and there are a few that give the many a bad reputation. However, I believe that the benefits outweigh the concern and we should look for ways we can work together with the University and the Students to address those issues.

As a City one of the things we can do is look for ways to attract businesses that fit the fields that our Graduates are entering. Certainly not all of our Graduates will stay but we should be able to attract those who would like to.

Our goal should be to embrace our Students with open arms, not look for ways to make coming here difficult and frustrating. We should also encourage them to become active in our community by participating in mentoring programs, neighborhood cleanups and other community service activities. Learning these traits will not only benefit our community but any community they decide to live in as service is contagious, once you begin you can never stop.

There is much work to be done and I believe our students an asset to our community that has been ignored and looked down upon in recent years. When I look at our students I see the future of our city and country and we should be helping to develop our future in a positive manner.

Muir Boda

Candidate for Salisbury City Council

You know what I like about Boda, he thinks for himself and he can disagree with someone without being an asshole.

I came across the flyer Tim Spies was handing out. What an ass. Boda and Mitchell are the only ones offering ideas and solutions to the problems. Tim talks about the problems, plays the blame game along with Bruce Ford. Terry is running on her "Record" and Orville is just there.

Back to Tim. He is just a sneaky SOB.
