GULLSHIT ALERT!!!! SU HAS BEEN INFILTRATED!

Check out this load of gullshit! It has been brought to our attention that a public forum for the City Council candidates was held in TETC on the 16th. That's right. It took place right here on our home turf and not a damn soul knew about it. Why? Because NOBODY at SU had the good sense to notify the student body that this event would be taking place. WTF! WHERE WAS THE EMAIL?? Not in my inbox.

There were literally 10 people that showed up at this thing. If I were running for office, I'd set the bar a little higher than 2 supporters per candidate. And maybe this is just me, but I would never just waltz onto someone else's territory and conduct a f***in "public" forum without telling them.

These are the potential officials that will be representing us for the next 4 years. It seems to me that this would've been an ideal, not to mention convenient, opportunity to get students involved with local politics. But perhaps that is why we were not notified. Perhaps there are some individuals in Salisbury that don't want to hear what we have to say. Well we've got news for them. They can go play in traffic because we're here and we're speaking up.

Its comical that the general consensus in Salisbury is that college students don't really give a damn about what's going on with regard to politics. Here at The Other Salisbury News, we have embarked on a mission to challenge that idea and prove that students are involved. It infuriates us that we students were not considered (especially considering that it took place on OUR campus) as a relevant party that deserves to participate.

It's not that college students are uninformed or don't care. It's that we are not given the fair opportunity to participate in city politics. That is something that The Other Salisbury News takes issue with. While college kids may have a bad reputation, we can't hold a candle to the sneaky, conniving individuals that are responsible for this. You think we'll turn a blind eye Salisbury? Sorry to disappoint you, but we've got your number and we're not stopping until students are represented fairly and considered equals. Word!

Yes Anon 11:28, it's a great PR to have a public forum at a university without telling the students about it. How silly of us. What were we thinking?
